Our mission is to administer equitable, fair, and impartial justice in a timely and couteous manner; protect fundamental rights; promote public safety; and facilitate community reparation through SPIRIT.

The municipal court has authority over violations of the Westminster Municipal Code. Some charges require an appearance in court, while others may be resolved by simply mailing in a fine. City ordinances, court rules and state statutes govern court proceedings. Court employees are not allowed to give legal advice, but are happy to answer procedural questions.

Information on this site applies only to Westminster Municipal Court. Some summonses written by Westminster police officers are written into Adams County Court  or Jefferson County Court.

Please check your summons for:

• the issuing police agency
• the date you are to appear in court.

The Municipal Court is a court of record that hears misdemeanor and traffic offenses of alleged violations of city ordinances. It also provides probation services activities that include the assignment of Volunteers In Probation (VIP) to juveniles placed on probation by the court.

The Westminster Municipal Court is a division of the General Services Department.
